Kelly L. Ackerman is the supervising litigation Paralegal with our firm. Her focus for the last three and a half years has been products liability, specifically in the areas of MoM (Metal on Metal) hip cases including DePuy ASR recall, DePuy Pinnacle, Wright Medical, Biomet and Stryker recall. As the paralegal supervisor, she is also responsible for training and managing the paralegals in the firm. Kelly has been a paralegal for eleven years, six of which were spent at the personal injury firm of Abrahamson & Uiterwyk in Clearwater, FL, focusing on single event, pre-suit cases, and one year as a transactional paralegal in the real estate division of Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs in Atlanta, GA, focusing on commercial leases.
Kelly attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, where, in 2008, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with and emphasis on pre-law. She graduated with a 3.92 GPA and high honors and was invited to speak at the Southeast Regional Honors Conference that same year. Kelly was a Florida Registered Paralegal and was a Guardian ad litem, advocating for children in the state of Florida before relocating to Georgia. Moreover, Kelly has been active with GTLA (Georgia Trial Lawyers Association) including speaking at paralegal events and even developing a curriculum to bring Paralegal certification to Georgia. Kelly is also a Notary Public, Gwinnett County.
Prior to entering the legal profession, she was a top producer, trainer and director in multiple sales and service organizations with a focus on client services. During more than ten years in sales and client service, Kelly won many awards not only for hitting projected sales goals, but, more importantly, for her dedication to ensuring client satisfaction and success. Kelly’s daughters, Devin a college student, and Kori, a junior in high school are her greatest achievement. While her girls keep her busy, they also keep her motived and focused and fill her world with love and laughter.
